Guam Dental Society holds inaugural 5K Run/Walk - Archived

Proceeds to benefit Future Healers of Guam, Guam Fluoride Varnish Program
 
(Monday, Feb. 9, 2015; Hagatna, Guam)—The Guam Dental Society (GDS) held its first annual 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at the Chamorro Village in Hagatna. Show time was at 5 a.m. and the participants hit the course at 6 a.m.
 
Foremost Foods, Inc. provided refreshing Foremost beverages to all participants, volunteers and organizers. The first 300 finishers each received a complimentary T-shirt.
Registration was hosted by Hornet Sporting Good. Pre-registration prices were $8 for individuals and $25 for groups, and $10 on race day.
 
According to Chong Yon Kim, an event organizer, proceeds from the GDS 5K Fun Run/Walk went to the Future Healers of Guam, to benefit Guam’s high school students who aspire to join the healthcare profession and also the Guam Fluoride Varnish Program, which was created to improve access to preventive dental care for Guam’s children.
